Farm Based Livelihood Works

Farm Sector Promotional Fund (FSPF) Under NABARD - BLCCT launched two impactful livelihood projects in the regions of Jairampur under Changlang district and Chowkham under Namsai district aimed at empowering individuals with sustainable, income-generating skills.

1. Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Training - Jairampur (FY 2023–24)

Supported by NABARD, in Jairampur, 25 marginalized rural farmers were trained in oyster mushroom cultivation, a high-demand and low-investment farming activity. The program provided hands-on training, starter kits, and continuous support to the participants, enabling them to adopt mushroom farming as a sustainable livelihood option.

As a result, the beneficiaries collectively generated a profit of ₹60,000, showcasing the potential of oyster mushroom cultivation as a reliable source of income and an innovative practice to strengthen rural livelihoods.

2. Integrated Floriculture & Scientific Beekeeping - Chowkham (FY 2024–25)

Supported by NABARD, in Chowkham, 42 farmers were trained in Integrated Floriculture and Scientific Beekeeping, combining flower cultivation with honey production to promote eco-friendly practices and create dual-income opportunities.

The initiative provided practical training in cultivating flowers such as gladiolus and gerbera while introducing participants to sustainable beekeeping methods. As a result, the farmers collectively generated a profit of ₹65,000.

To further strengthen the project, a second phase of beekeeping has begun alongside the replantation of gladiolus and gerbera, ensuring both continuity and growth of the livelihood opportunity.
